About the position

Neural is seeking a highly motivated and strategically-minded Federal Sales Executive to lead and expand our public sector customer base across U.S. federal agencies. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, shaping capture strategies, and closing deals that leverage Neural’s AI, geospatial analytics, and machine learning capabilities to support government missions in defense, intelligence, climate, infrastructure, health, and space.

This is a quota-carrying role that requires experience selling SaaS, analytics, or emerging technologies into civilian and/or defense agencies. You will lead engagements from early-stage pipeline development through proposal submission and contract execution, partnering closely with product, legal, and engineering teams to align customer needs with Neural’s offerings.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of navigating complex procurement processes (including SBIR, OTAs, IDIQs, GSA schedules, and cooperative agreements), understands how to position innovative technologies in the public sector, and thrives in entrepreneurial environments. You should be equally comfortable giving a high-level capabilities briefing at the Pentagon and strategizing over CRM metrics with sales leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a pipeline of federal opportunities aligned with Neural’s product capabilities.
  • Develop and execute account plans for key agencies (e.g., DoD, NOAA, NASA, DHS, HHS, EPA, FEMA, Department of State).
  • Lead proposal and capture activities, including RFIs, white papers, technical briefs, and pricing strategies.
  • Represent Neural at federal conferences, industry days, and meetings with program offices.
  • Collaborate with product teams to align roadmaps with market feedback.
  • Negotiate contracts in partnership with legal and executive leadership.
  • Track activity in CRM and provide accurate forecasts and reporting.
  • Identify and establish teaming partnerships with primes, integrators, and small businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations and proposal guidelines.

Qualification

  • 5+ years of experience in federal sales or business development, preferably for SaaS, AI/ML, or geospatial products.
  • Strong network and knowledge of procurement cycles across federal civilian and/or DoD agencies.
  • Demonstrated success closing 6–7 figure federal contracts or pilot programs.
  • Excellent communication, proposal writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with procurement vehicles such as SBIR/STTR, OTAs, IDIQs, or GSA MAS.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and security clearance processes.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and sales KPIs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing security clearance or eligibility (Secret or above).
  • Technical fluency in geospatial, remote sensing, or AI/ML domains.
  • Experience working at or selling to national labs, research agencies, or federal innovation programs.
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth company serving the federal market.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (ITAR, DFARS, CUI/NIST 800-171).
